  • Globalive and their WIND Mobile brand launched a massive campaign yesterday to raise awareness about the current state of Canadian wireless. Their press release said that due to the lack of real competition us Canadians pay 60% more for wireless services than our American friends, that our wireless penetration is only 65% and is one of the weakest in the developed world, and that the oligopoly of Telus, Rogers and Bell must be stopped to offer Canadians a real wireless alternative.

  • CallNet had endured for five years tremendous resistance to change and regulatory upgrades, and had spearheaded huge regulatory battles that finally culminated (1991) in a review by the CRTC. This review produced new regulations enabling Canadians to benefit from competition in the long-distance telephone market, which today is a welcome necessity for consumers and industry.
