  • New cellphone company Wind Mobile is hiring full-time and part-time employees for its upcoming launch in Edmonton and Ottawa and expects to hire 600 employees in the next 12 months. Wind Mobile said Wednesday that it was looking for about 52 people in Edmonton and 38 in Ottawa for positions including store managers, assistant store managers and sales associates

  • Saying it will launch in both Edmonton and Ottawa next month, Wind Mobile, the country’s newest national wireless provider – announced today the launch of a hiring campaign to recruit both full-time and part-time employees in both cities. Available positions include: store managers, assistant store managers and sales associates. An open house session will take place at the Westgate Shopping Centre on Ottawa Thursday, January 21st, from 1 to 9 p.m.

  • Wind Mobile, the company that aims to be Canada’s fourth national wireless carrier, will be launching service in Ottawa and Edmonton as early as next month. The wireless company, which is owned by Toronto-based Globalive Communications, on Wednesday announced a hiring campaign in those two cities, with stores possibly opening in February.

  • Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek bought a handset shortly after it was released and signed up with a prepaid service. This allowed him some time to evaluate the phone’s hardware, touchscreen, user interface, processing and download speeds, as well as features and applications. He described his initial impressions as “very positive.”….Of course, he is used WIND Mobile and his impression again is “very positive.”

  • Wind wants new Google phone in Canada

  • Upstart Canadian wireless carrier Wind Mobile is trying to bring Google Inc.’s new Nexus One smart phone to Canada. “We’re trying,” Wind’s chief customer officer Chris Robbins said in an interview Thursday. “We’ve got a few calls into Google. Canada’s a small market to these guys. We’re not getting a lot of face time.”
