First new wireless carrier in over a decade launches in London with no-term-contract mobile service; WIND Mobile shows support for the community and begins network rollout in London region

London, ON – December 13, 2011 – Today, WIND Mobile officially launched in London, Ontario with the announcement of the WINDthanks London Community Grant. As a way to introduce itself to the community WIND will give a $10,000 grant to one organization or charity in London to support a project that brings positive change to the community.

“Our goal is for all Canadians to benefit from wireless change offered by WIND Mobile,” said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman and CEO of WIND Mobile. “Now Londoners can join the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who are already enjoying freedom from contracts and value for their dollar. Our national expansion is our key objective and that’s why we’re especially happy to be opening our doors today in London.”

With its launch, WIND Mobile becomes the first new wireless in London in over a decade. Since launching nearly two years ago, WIND Mobile has now secured more than 350,000 subscribers and expanded into markets like Waterloo and Niagara regions this year with plans for further network expansion throughout the country. Some of the cities where WIND will launch next year include Barrie, Peterborough, Windsor, Kingston and Belleville in Ontario as well as Mission in British Columbia. WIND will also be the first new carrier to expand to the east coast, Manitoba and Saskatchewan when it launches in Halifax, Winnipeg and Regina in 2012.

On top of providing positive change to wireless consumers, WIND is also dedicated to giving back to the communities where it operates. The WINDthanks Grant allows Londoners to make recommendations to WIND about projects that they think will make a difference in their community. Projects will be judged based on how the project will benefit the community, the innovation, uniqueness or need for the project in the community and the support the project receives from Londoners.

“I’m proud that one of the core values we always prioritize at WIND is our role within the community and that is no different here in London,” said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman and CEO of WIND Mobile. “The WINDthanks Grant allows us to bring positive change directly to the community and has the added bonus of giving Londoners the opportunity to let us know exactly what would benefit their community most.”

Individuals, organizations and charities can nominate projects for the grant online at www.WINDmobile.ca/WINDthanks. The deadline for submissions is January 13th, 2012 and the grant recipient will be announced in February 2012.

Hometown entrepreneur returns to introduce no-term-contract mobile service in St. Catharines, Welland; WIND Mobile shows support for the community and begins network rollout in Niagara region

St. Catharines, ON – November 23, 2011 – Today, WIND Mobile officially launched in the Niagara region with the announcement of the WINDthanks Niagara Region Community Grant. As a way to introduce itself to the community WIND will give a $10,000 grant to one organization or charity in St. Catharines, Welland or Niagara to support a new or existing project that brings positive change to the community.

“The launch in the Niagara region is especially meaningful to me because it’s where I’m from,” said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman and CEO of WIND Mobile. “It was always my ambition to bring wireless competition to all Canadians so being able to bring it to the area where I grew up shows me how much closer we are to accomplishing our goal.”

A native of the Niagara region, Lacavera has become one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the country by introducing the first new Canadian wireless carrier to launch in over a decade. WIND Mobile has revolutionized telecom in Canada by providing lower prices, freedom from contracts and positive change in an industry that was ruled by an oligopoly of incumbent operators.

Since launching nearly two years ago, WIND Mobile has now secured more than 350,000 subscribers and has plans for further network expansion both in the Niagara region and throughout the country heading into 2012. The next planned market expansion will take place next month in London, Ontario.

“Giving back to the community is one of the fundamental values at WIND,” said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman and CEO of WIND Mobile. “By launching the WINDthanks grant, we’re not only able to bring positive change by fostering wireless competition but also to the community directly.”

Individual and Organizations and charities are encouraged to nominate projects for the grant online at www.Facebook.com/WINDMobile. Suggestions must outline how the project will benefit the community and must be received by December 31st, 2011. The grant recipient will be announced in January 2012.

WIND Mobile makes real customers the face of new campaign

Toronto – November 7, 2011 – A recent survey commissioned by WIND Mobile found 77 per cent of Canadians who own a cellphone feel the increase in wireless competition from the new entrants has been positive and over half (54 per cent) feel wireless prices have come down in the last two years.

“It has always been our vision that Canadians would feel the positive impact of real wireless competition and we are very proud to have ushered in this new reality,” said Anthony Lacavera, CEO of WIND Mobile and Globalive Holdings.

That positive sentiment from Canadian consumers and WIND customers specifically is exactly what the company is looking to harness with its new holiday advertising campaign, which features comments from real customers.

“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do which is why we’ve decided to put them front and centre in our new campaign,” said Lacavera. “Even before we launched we listened to what Canadians wanted from their wireless carrier and we committed to deliver on what we heard. This campaign gives a voice to those consumers who spoke up and to who we have listened to.”

The campaign features the testimonials of real WIND customers from across the country that WIND has collected from what our customers, members, fans and followers have been saying in our online spaces, including the WIND Community, Facebook and Twitter. They discuss everything from WIND’s lack of extra fees, the value they get from their service plans and the fact that they do not have to sign a term-contract. The average Canadian is feeling these benefits as well. Over 70 per cent of Canadians with a cellphone (74 per cent) feel that they have more freedom now that they no longer have to lock into a contract.

One of the customers featured in the new campaign is Fred S. from Calgary, a WIND customer since May 2010. Fred S. says “I think WIND offers the best value with an added bonus… NO TERM CONTRACTS!”. Another customer in the campaign is James C. from Ottawa, a WIND customer since October 2010, says, “No extra fees, no hassle and I feel like I’m getting real value for my money.”
The campaign is launching with testimonials collected from WIND’s online community. Moving forward, WIND will continue to collect their customers’ feedback and use it in future campaigns. To find out more information about the customers featured in WIND’s new campaign, visit WINDmobile.ca/loveWIND.

Competition survey highlights include:
•	77 per cent of Canadians with a cellphone feel that the increase in wireless competition over the past two years has been positive

WIND Mobile introduces a prepaid service that offers consumers total spending control

Toronto, ON – July 21, 2011 – WIND Mobile has made wireless accessible to more Canadians by offering unbeatable value, eliminating mysterious charges like the system access fee and offering the freedom of no-term contracts. By launching Pay Your Way, WIND is bringing wireless to even more people by allowing them to pay for only what they use, offering them total control over their wireless spend.

Pay Your Way has one of the lowest calling rates in the market at only $0.25 per minute flat-rate across Canada to anywhere in Canada or the US. It offers the traditional prepaid benefit of no-term contract commitments, but adds some unique features to the prepaid experience like free incoming text, free Facebook, free call control features including Caller ID and Missed Call Alerts, and free CBC News and Weather updates on WINDworld mobile portal.

WIND’s Pay Your Way customers can extend their service life and reactivate or rollover unused credit up to 365 days with a single top-up. Subscribers also benefit from the flexibility to change to a monthly plan as their needs change and pick from a large menu of unlimited monthly add-ons starting from $5 per month.

Unlimited and contract-free business solutions offer control, flexibility and huge cost savings

Toronto – June 16, 2011 – After more than a year of bringing change to the Canadian wireless consumer, WIND Mobile is changing the wireless market again, this time for businesses. With the launch of Unlimited Business Solutions, WIND Mobile is the first new, national wireless provider to offer fair prices to the Canadian business community. WIND offers businesses the chance to create their own flexible solution that comes without a contract.

“Our offering is a game changer for small businesses,” said Ken Campbell, CEO of WIND Mobile. “I know from my own experience building WIND from the ground up that many small businesses are so busy they don’t have the time to look into cost-cutting options but these solutions offer a significant way to save on something that is essential to their success.”

WIND’s Unlimited Business Solutions offer businesses the ultimate flexibility to be agile and cope with constantly changing market conditions. Every business can mix and match plans for each team member, change plans as needed, and with no term-contracts, businesses don’t have to worry about penalties or cancellation fees. WIND also offers more deals as companies grow with savings of up to $5 per month on each additional line. This means a team of four can save more than $3,000 a year when compared to similar plans from the incumbents.

“Expanding into the small and medium business market in Canada is a natural next step for us,” said Scott Campbell, CMO for WIND Mobile. “WIND was the first to offer genuine 24/7 unlimited talk, text and data to consumers and many competitors have followed. Unlimited for business is something new and unique to WIND.”

Every plan offers free, unlimited national WIND-to-WIND calling and most offer 24/7 unlimited talk and text which means businesses don’t need to worry about exceeding minute limits. WIND also never charges for incoming long-distance calls, as many competitors do, and offers $0.25 per minute roaming rates to and from anywhere across Canada and the US which is less expensive than the recently reduced rates of the incumbents.

Recognizing that business is often done anywhere but in an office today, WIND offers incredible value for hi-speed mobile Internet. Unlimited mobile Internet add-ons for smartphones are just $10 per month, and unlimited mobile Internet for laptops or tablets costs only $29 per month for up to 12 months. WIND also offers a full range of business friendly smartphones and data devices like the WINDspeed Data Stick that helps customers get work done just about anywhere. For more information visit WINDMobile.ca/business.
