Store Features – Highlights:
- WIND Mobile stores feature a digital environment that includes all displays and back walls. Kiosks offer a fully digital display.
- Laptops are shared between employees and customers and function both as the point of sale as well as access terminals for customers.
- WIND Mobile stores do not have a “cash desk” that separates employees from customers.
- The central point of every store and kiosk is the “harvest table” – featuring an organic design in the middle of the store, serving as a place for conversations.
- Environmentally sustainable materials are used throughout the store including the tables, which are made of bamboo, and floors made of cork.
Microsoft Surface:
- Microsoft Surface is an innovative multi-touch interactive “table” that has been embedded in WIND stores across Canada. It will help customers to learn about WIND, its products and services.
- Given WIND’s unique position in the market is one of listening and conversation, Microsoft Surface was chosen as a consultative customer experience tool within stores – a conversation piece, another way in which Experience Specialists can engage with consumers.
- The application allows consumers to investigate devices and plans, with an opportunity to compare phones in a unique and interactive way.
- While the first version of the application is about displaying and comparing services and devices, the roadmap for interactive communication through Surface lies in ideas about personalization, customization, and individual interaction with technology.
- By the end of 2009, WIND’s use of Surface will be the largest deployment of the hardware in Canada.
