Founded WIND Mobile in 2008, raised $1.5 billion in capital and built the company into the leading facilities-based challenger wireless company in Canada. WIND Mobile has grown from start-up in 2008 to $500 million revenue in 2015, has 1,200 employees, an advanced wireless network covering over 14 million people and a retail network of 300 stores and dealers. In 2014, we led a new equity and debt consortium to acquire VimpelCom’s interest and recapitalize WIND Mobile for its next phase of growth. In 2015, we announced the sale of WIND Mobile to Shaw Communications for $1.6 billion.
Founded two fast-growing collaboration service providers (Enunciate Conferencing and Pragmatic Solutions). Enunciate was sold to Premiere Global Services and Pragmatic is a very fast growing company with $10 million in revenue.
Our companies have won a number of awards including Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies 11 years in a row, Best Workplaces in Canada three times, Deloitte’s Canadian Technology Fast 50 in 2005, Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures and a number of Profit Magazine awards including Canada’s fastest growing company in 2004.
Founded Globalive Communications in 1997 and built the company into one of the largest non-incumbent wireline companies in Canada reaching a peak of $120 million in revenue and over $20 million in EBITDA. Brands include Yak Communications and OneConnect Services.
Built a real estate portfolio in multiple asset classes: student housing (Brock View Rentals), residential Toronto condominiums (primarily investments in Plazacorp developments), medical office buildings (Mohawk Medical), senior care (Points West Living), U.S. multi-unit residential (Momentum Real Estate Partners), U.S. single family residential (White Tail Capital).
Invested in over 25 private companies, 10 venture funds and 15 micro-cap public companies. Anthony Lacavera


Anthony Lacavera is the Chairman of Globalive Capital and Globalive Communications and past CEO of WIND Mobile. He was named Canada’s CEO of the Year in 2010 by the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Magazine, Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2006 and one of the 50 Most Influential Torontonians by Toronto Life Magazine in 2013. Anthony is an Honorary Fellow of St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto and is a member of the University of Toronto Engineering Hall of Distinction. Anthony has a reputation as a disruptive entrepreneur that has changed Canada’s telecommunications landscape. In 2007, Anthony founded the Shamba Foundation, the charitable arm of the Globalive Group.

Brice Scheschuk, CPA, CA is the CEO of Globalive Capital and Globalive Communications, CFO of Pragmatic Solutions and past CFO of WIND Mobile. He has 20 years experience building and operating companies and has led the capital raising and due diligence efforts at WIND Mobile and Globalive Communications. Brice obtained his CA designation at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). His current and past board and advisory positions include WIND Mobile, Globalive Communications, Partsroom, Pragmatic Solutions, Cranson Capital, Espresso Capital, iLookabout(TSX: ILA), Samba Days / Rewards, SceneDoc, Transgaming (TSX: TNG), Varicent Software, Web Host Industry Review and World of Angus.


Simon Lockie

Chief Legal Officer

Simon Lockie is the CLO of Globalive Capital and Globalive Communications and past CRO at WIND Mobile. He successfully managed a very challenging regulatory environment to a successful conclusion for WIND Mobile. Simon has 20 years experience in legal and regulatory. He obtained his LL.B. from McGill University and was a partner at Davies, Ward, Philips & Vineberg. Simon’s current and past board and advisory positions include WIND Mobile and Globalive Communications.


David Roff

David Roff


David Roff, CPA, CA is a Partner at Globalive Capital and CFO of Brock View Rentals. He manages our real estate development and real estate investments. He also works with our non-telecommunications private, venture fund and micro cap public investments. David has over 20 years experience as an angel investor, CFO and director of both private and public companies. He obtained his CA designation at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). His current and past board and advisory positions include Arkson Nutraceuticals (OTC-BB: AKSN), Brock View Rentals, Deep Well Oil & Gas (OTC-BB: DWOG), Samba Days / Rewards, Scene Doc and Vet Success.

Our primary operating experience is in telecommunications services and we are continuously looking at investment opportunities in this sector. We have a strong operating platform at Globalive Communications and have realized significant synergies from past investments in this sector including conferencing service providers, SMB resellers, consumer long-distance, dialing codes (#TAXI) and payphones. We have a particular strength in managing legacy telecommunications assets and optimizing cash flow / growth as appropriate.

We directly invest in and operate housing (student and single family rental) in Niagara / St. Catharines through Brock View Rentals. Our real estate LP investments include: Mohawk Medical, Momentum Real Estate Partners, Plazacorp Real Estate (Epic/Emerald Mezz, No 1 Yorkville, Widmer), Points West Living and White Tail Capital. We invest in a diversified portfolio of development and operating assets across multiple asset classes in Canada and the United States.



Our private investment activities are primarily relationship driven co-investments with like-minded, trusted investors including Business Instincts Group, Cranson Capital, Gibraltar Capital, Mantella Venture Partners, MaRS IAF, Plazacorp Ventures and Relay Ventures. We have also invested in a number of venture capital (equity and debt) funds. In general, we invest in technology, media and telecom sectors although we are not constrained to these sectors.

When we decide to invest, we bring our experience and network to the investee and drive significant strategic, financial and operational value.

The Shamba Foundation is the charitable arm of Globalive Capital. Shamba partners with charities to enhance their operating effectiveness through consulting and seminars. We frequently donate our meeting room and event space in downtown Toronto as well as staff time to charities to run fundraising events.
