Globalive Capital invests in three categories:
Our primary operating experience is in telecommunications services and we are continuously looking at investment opportunities in this sector. We have a strong operating platform at Globalive Communications and have realized significant synergies from past investments in this sector including conferencing service providers, SMB resellers, consumer long-distance, dialing codes (#TAXI) and payphones. We have a particular strength in managing legacy telecommunications assets and optimizing cash flow / growth as appropriate.
We directly invest in and operate housing (student and single family rental) in Niagara / St. Catharines through Brock View Rentals. Our real estate LP investments include: Mohawk Medical, Momentum Real Estate Partners, Plazacorp Real Estate (Epic/Emerald Mezz, No 1 Yorkville, Widmer), Points West Living and White Tail Capital. We invest in a diversified portfolio of development and operating assets across multiple asset classes in Canada and the United States.
Our private investment activities are primarily relationship driven co-investments with like-minded, trusted investors including Business Instincts Group, Cranson Capital, Gibraltar Capital, Mantella Venture Partners, MaRS IAF, Plazacorp Ventures and Relay Ventures. We have also invested in a number of venture capital (equity and debt) funds. In general, we invest in technology, media and telecom sectors although we are not constrained to these sectors.
When we decide to invest, we bring our experience and network to the investee and drive significant strategic, financial and operational value.
The team at Globalive Capital is passionate entrepreneurs driven to break down barriers and challenge the status quo. Core principles include understand risk/return; people first; numbers don’t lie; sell, sell, sell; keep building; feed the winners; never stop and never accept no for an answer; fight incumbents and oligopolies; mentor the next generation and give back to the community; maintain maximum optionality; and always have alternatives. We enjoy meeting entrepreneurs that share our principles.
